Know of a good synonym for "disenthuse"?

Look, I know disenthuse is not a real word, but I can't find a decent substitute. Comment if you can.

The meaning I'm looking for is: to kill one's interest in a subject or an action. As in, "DHH's anti-Java rants have really disenthused me from learning the framework." This is a significantly different meaning from dissuade, which is to actively persuade against a certain action.
